В рамках Міжнародного форуму «Освіта, підготовка та працевлаштування моряків» (ЄТС-2024) та на честь 80-річчя Національного університету «Одеська морська академія» відбулася конференція.

ITF Seafarers' Trust продовжив проєкт для курсантів Херсонської державної морської академії, які за підтримки ПРМТУ успішно закінчили перший рік навчання в Литовській морській академії.

Два суднових реєстри, тісно пов'язані з «тіньовим флотом» — Габон та Есватіні — стали останніми доповненнями до списку прапорів зручності (FOC) ITF. Разом з цим, Тонга була виключена зі списку, що існує вже 76 років, і тепер загальна кількість FOC складає 43.

The International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) reports that it is currently working with Australian authorities to resolve a case of crew abuse, wage theft and appalling conditions aboard a bulk carrier owned by a Bulgarian company. The Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine (MTWTU) participated in the Trade Union Summit for Ukraine organized by the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC). It took place on April 22-23 in Lublin (Poland) and brought together about 120 representatives of various European trade unions.

For many years, Ukraine has been a leader in training maritime personnel for the international labour market. A number of the best shipping companies employ Ukrainian cadets and train young and prospective seafarers to work on their vessels.

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) says not enough has been done to guarantee the safety of seafarers in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, and the loss of life following the Houthi attack on M/V True Confidence is a tragedy because of that.

No delivery window is worth the loss of seafarers’ lives. We call on the industry to divert ships around the Cape of Good Hope until safe transit through the Red Sea can be guaranteed.
