World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2023

The Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine, together with the international community, celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year's motto is: "A safe and healthy working environment is a fundamental principle and right at work".

Mutual obligations of the social dialogue parties at the sectoral and local levels to ensure safe and healthy working conditions are stipulated in the Industrial Agreement and collective bargaining agreements at enterprises, institutions, and organisations of maritime transport.

Exercising the rights granted to trade unions by the Ukrainian legislation in force, the Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine constantly participates in the work of commissions for a special investigation of industrial accidents that occur to employees of maritime transport enterprises, institutions, and organisations. Our representative is a member of the Commission for testing knowledge on labour protection issues of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, and a member of the Public Council at the State Labour Service of Ukraine. The Union actively participates in working groups established by the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine to develop and discuss draft legislative and regulatory acts on labour safety.

In this challenging time for Ukraine, employees need special attention in terms of safety, rest, decent wages, respect, etc.

We wish safe work to all the workers!

Together to Victory!
