The number of issues was discussed during the meeting of the ITF Maritime Safety Committee, held in London on 28-29 November 2018.
Among them, ship automation and job cuts, changes in PSC inspection procedures, seafarers’ fatigue and much more. At the meeting there has also been presented the joint project of the MTWTU and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to address seafarers’ involvement in maritime crimes, unanimously supported by the Committee.
The meeting of the ITF MSC was held on the eve of the 100th anniversary meeting of the Maritime Safety Committee of the International Maritime Organization, which was held in London on December 3, 2018. An ITF representative took part in the meeting with the presentation on accidents and incidents at sea.
